About BuildToolForge
Free, fast and private online tools, each paired with a clear guide that explains the result, not just the raw output.
Our story
BuildToolForge started in 2026 out of frustration with online tools that were bloated and slow, hidden behind sign-up walls, or so generic they never quite answered the question. We wanted the opposite: a small, focused set of network and web utilities that load instantly, respect your privacy, and explain what the result actually means.
Rather than a giant grab-bag of hundreds of half-maintained tools, we build a handful of things well. Each tool is paired with a clear, practical guide, so whether you are checking a certificate before it expires or reading DNS records after a migration, you leave understanding what you looked at.
Our mission
- Provide genuinely free, high-quality tools with no registration required.
- Run in the browser wherever possible for speed and privacy.
- Pair every tool with a step-by-step guide that teaches, not just outputs.
- Keep the interface clean, fast, and usable on any device.
- Add and improve tools based on real feedback from people who use them.
Who writes our guides
Founder & CEO, BuildToolForge. 15+ years of hands-on experience in web development and security. Focused on practical web security: keeping websites secure, reliable and easy to troubleshoot. BuildToolForge exists to make these checks free, private and understandable. Tools run in your browser wherever possible, and nothing you enter into a tool is stored. Follow on X: @Buildtoolforge
How we write our guides: Every guide is written from hands-on experience, checked against the official standards, and tested with our own tools on real domains. We update guides when standards or tools change. Found a mistake? Email contact@buildtoolforge.com.
What we stand for
Tools run in your browser wherever possible, and we add no tracking of what you type. Where a tool needs a backend, it sends only what is required and stores nothing.
Static, lightweight pages with no clutter and no loading spinners. Open a tool and get an answer straight away.
Every tool comes with a step-by-step guide, so you understand the result instead of just copying the raw output.
No accounts, no subscriptions, no hidden tiers. Just open a tool and use it.
Why choose BuildToolForge?
100% free: Every tool is free, with no hidden costs or premium tiers.

What we build
DNS Lookup for A, AAAA, MX, TXT, NS, SRV, and PTR records, with values and TTL.
SSL Certificate Checker and a Security Headers Scanner to inspect how a site protects visitors.
An HTTP status and header viewer and a rate-limit calculator for everyday web work.
A Base64 encoder and decoder for text, with a URL-safe option and full UTF-8 support.
Our technology
BuildToolForge is built with modern, dependable web technology, and designed to prioritize your privacy and speed.
- Client-side first: tools run in your browser wherever the task allows.
- Static and fast: a Next.js static build served from a global edge network.
- Minimal backend: where a server is truly needed, a small edge function handles it and keeps nothing.
- Mobile-first: every page is built to work on phones and tablets.
- Instant results: answers appear as soon as the lookup completes.
Who it is for
Our tools are made for the people who run into DNS, SSL, and HTTP questions in real work: developers verifying a deployment, system and network administrators debugging email or connectivity, security-minded folks auditing certificates and headers, and students learning how the web fits together. If you have ever needed a quick, trustworthy answer without wading through clutter, these tools are for you.
Privacy and security
Privacy is a default here, not a feature. There are no accounts, so there is nothing to breach. We do not track what you type into a tool, and we do not sell or share data. Tools run in your browser wherever possible, which means your input never leaves your device. When a tool has to reach a server, it sends only what the lookup needs, keeps no record of it, and everything travels over HTTPS.

Yes. Every tool is free to use with no account, no subscription, and no usage limits. The small utilities that come up in daily web work should be available to everyone.

No. There is nothing to sign up for. Open a tool and use it right away.
